I have been wanting to have Rose Morro on this podcast for a while. She is one of my patients, she is an energy healer, and she is one of those people who walked through something incredibly painful and came out the other side with a gift to offer the world.
That is a story I never get tired of telling.
Rose practices something called the Emotion Code, a healing modality developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson that works directly with the subconscious mind to identify and release what are called trapped emotions. It sounds esoteric until she explains it, and then it sounds like the most logical thing in the world.
A Family Tragedy That Became a Calling
Thirteen years before we recorded this episode, Rose's family went through an unexpected and heartbreaking separation following her divorce. She had three teenage children. Something happened that separated the family in a way that went beyond the divorce itself, and it left her feeling stuck in a way that no self-help book, no workshop, no amount of personal growth work could reach.
She tried a lot of things. She even moved countries, returning to France and going back to university. And then a friend sent her a link to a talk by Dr. Bradley Nelson, the author of the Emotion Code. She listened, felt the authenticity in his voice, and decided to read the book.
Something clicked.
She already knew muscle testing, having learned it at an unrelated workshop five years earlier. She hadn't known what she was saving it for. Now she did. She started practicing the Emotion Code on herself, and her life began to shift.
"I was so intent on this growth journey," she said. "I changed my diet, I changed my language. And I saw that the Emotion Code was a little different from the other ways I had looked at healing, because it went right down into the subconscious."
That is the key. Not the surface level. Not the story we tell about what happened. The place underneath, where it actually lives.
What the Subconscious Is Holding
Here is how Rose explained trapped emotions, and I want to share it as clearly as she did because I think it matters.
When we experience something difficult, whether it's grief, fear, betrayal, or chronic stress, the emotion that gets generated in that moment has energy. If that energy isn't fully processed and released, it gets stored in the body. Literally in the body, in specific areas, where it can affect the function of the organs, tissues, and systems in that region.
Those stored energies are called trapped emotions. And they don't disappear with time. They sit in the subconscious, quietly influencing how we feel, how we respond, and even how our bodies function, without us ever being consciously aware they're there.
Muscle testing is the tool that creates a line of communication down into the subconscious so those trapped emotions can be identified and released. It works whether the session is done in person, over the phone, or over video. The energy field is not limited by physical distance.
Rose shared a story about a client in Seattle who had a staph infection on her hip that would not heal after six weeks and two surgical interventions. When Rose asked what was underneath it, everything that came up was emotional: family, relationships, the heart. They released those energies over three consecutive sessions. The infection healed completely.
Is that a coincidence? Maybe. But I have read enough, studied enough, and seen enough in my own practice to know that the body keeps the score. What we carry emotionally shows up physically. Every time.
The Body Keeps the Score
This is where what Rose does and what I do intersect so directly.
When Rose described the subconscious storing the past without our awareness, and muscle testing as the tool that pulls it up, I thought immediately of what I tell patients about retracing. After a Blair upper cervical correction, once the nervous system has the space to breathe again, the body begins to unwind. It heals in layers, working backward through everything it has been holding. Physical experiences, emotional ones, things you thought you had long since resolved.
The body keeps the score. It remembers everything.
What is so fascinating about Rose's work is that she has taken that principle and built a precise, reproducible method around it. She releases trapped emotions before coming to her appointments with me, with the intention that removing emotional interference will help the structural correction hold even better. And she believes it does.
I believe it does too. Structure and emotion are not separate systems. They are two expressions of the same whole person. When we treat both, the results compound.
Ancestral Trauma and What We Inherit
One of the most remarkable parts of our conversation was about inherited trapped emotions, and I have to share it because it stopped me in my tracks.
The Emotion Code can identify not just a person's own trapped emotions but emotions inherited from ancestors: from a mother, a father, or generations further back. This is not metaphor. This is biology.
Here is what I said on the podcast because it is true and I find it breathtaking: when I was inside my mother's womb, my daughters who I gave birth to a generation later were also inside her. The eggs I carried were inside my mother's body. My daughters were biologically exposed to the same environment, the same stress, the same trauma my mother experienced, because they were already there in a form inside me.
And I see it. I see tendencies in my daughters that trace directly back to things my mother experienced. That is not imagination. That is epigenetics. That is the science of how trauma moves through generations through our DNA.
The book Rose and I both referenced in this conversation is It Didn't Start with You by Mark Wolynn. If you want to understand why you carry certain patterns, fears, or tendencies that don't seem to come from your own life experience, that book is a starting place.
And the Emotion Code is a tool for releasing it: not just for yourself, but for what you inherited, and what you might otherwise pass on.
Working Together
I want to say clearly what I said on this podcast: what Rose does and what I do are not competing approaches. They are synergistic.
Blair upper cervical chiropractic removes the structural interference that prevents the nervous system from communicating properly. The Emotion Code removes the emotional interference that can drive physical tension, prevent corrections from holding, or surface as physical symptoms with no obvious structural cause.
Together, they address the whole person. Body and energy field, spine and subconscious, structure and story.
Rose said it simply: "Both of our work is incredible on its own. But together it's synergistic."
I could not agree more.
Find Rose
Rose can be found at blissenergyhealing.com. She works with clients in person and remotely, by phone, Skype, or Zoom, and her work is equally effective either way. New clients can read testimonials on her site and Google reviews to get a sense of what to expect.
If you have been carrying something you cannot name, something that has not responded to every other thing you have tried, I would encourage you to reach out to Rose. She brings an open heart, a non-judgmental approach, and a genuine gift for this work.
Sometimes people come to this work, as she said, when their back is against the wall. That is okay. The wall is often exactly where the door turns out to be.
